Network Marketing Business Plan – Skip This Step and You're Guaranteed To Fail Quickly!
Failing to plan is a planning to fail. ~ Old Proverb Quote
Before you do anything with an online business you need to make sure you have a network marketing business plan and marketing strategy in place. Creating a plan is the most important things that will determine your success or failure.
Mindset and personal development have a lot to do with achieving success, however, you can think positive all day and cite affirmations ’til the cows come home, but without some kind of plan to reach your goals, then all of your affirmations amount to nothing.
After you have decided what it is that you want to do with your business, then you need to a marketing plan. Now, don’t get this confused with a marketing strategy. There is a difference, which I’ll explain later.
What Exactly Is A Network Marketing Business Plan?
Your network marketing business plan is a schedule of what you plan to do everyday in your business. Think of it much like an exercise plan where you setup planned workouts at the beginning of the week for each day. Monday – Back and Biceps, Tuesday – Triceps, Shoulders and Chest, Wednesday – Legs & Back, etc. Setting up this plan will help keep you accountable and focused on your goals. Now, if accountability to yourself isn’t enough to keep you on track, find a partner to help you.
You want to set this plan up with realistic times depending upon the amount of time you have. Some of you are still at full-time jobs. So, make sure to space things out and understand you are not going to get everything done in a day, week and maybe not even a month. As an entrepreneur, sometimes there are distractions and technological breakdowns that will delay us. Don’t sweat it. Learn to adapt and get right back in there.
A Network Marketing Business Plan vs. A Marketing Strategy?
Your marketing business plan is what you plan to do, however your marketing strategy is how you plan to do it. It’s how you execute the plan. Many get confused on the differences when it comes to developing their marketing plan. It’s critical that you understand the differences to keep you on the right path.
Having a solid strategy will help you greatly in your network marketing business but also realize that it is not set in stone. You can always and you should tweak it as you go along. There is no such thing as the perfect plan.
Sometime you may find a new useful site or a new tool that was just released that can help you.
This is why your marketing strategy can change as you move forward. You do need to have something solid to start of with though. So having your strategy and marketing plan both solid from the beginning will give you great advantage over your competition. Trust me on that!
Let’s say my marketing plan involves article marketing. My strategies however, would be placing that article on my blog, and syndicating via several sources including backlinks all linking back to my blog. Then I go build more backlinks to the syndicated content, etc. Get it? That’s the difference between a plan and a strategy.
Do You Have A Network Marketing Business Plan?
You all remember the story about the two men who built their homes – one built on sand and the other built on rock. Sure, the guy who built on sand was quicker and finished his house faster than the guy who built on rock.
He would point and laugh at the other guy while sipping lemonade on his porch, straight chillin’. “Look at this fool using rock to build his home. It’ll take him forever to get that house done.”
And it did take him quite a bit longer.
But then one day, the rain came hard and steady. It rained until the water began to rise higher and higher.
The man that built his house on sand was terrified because his house was getting flooded and becoming unstable.
The man who took the time to build his house on rock was inside warm and fuzzy sipping hot cocoa by the fireplace, straight chillin’.
After the storm passed and the clouds rolled back, daylight revealed that the man
who built his house on sand lost everything, including the house.
This same concept applies to your business. This is why it is imperative to build on a solid foundation by having a network marketing business plan.
If you don’t have a marketing plan for your business and neither does your upline, it’s TIME you get one NOW! Remember failure to plan is a plan for failure. You choose success or failure. Which will it be?
